Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the Staff and students of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pinjarra the principal and staff would like to welcome you and your family to our school community. We welcome your interest, support and encouragement in all aspects of school life.

St Joseph’s School was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph’s and the work of these Sisters and St Mary MacKillop of the Cross is still the foundation of our school. As our Vision statement states…we seek to create a God centred educational environment where each school community member is nurtured spiritually, academically, socially and physically.

Children from Pre- Kindergarten to Year Six are offered a curriculum which focusses on the whole child. The comprehensive curriculum is stimulating and challenging as we encourage our students to become confident, independent and collaborative learners who have, at their core, the Gospel values that Jesus taught us.

Specialist Areas include: LOTE (Italian), Music, Library, Physical Education and The Arts. We also offer a Perceptual Motor Program for Early Childhood students along with a Play For Life program. Students from Years Three to Six participate in a dance program and swimming lessons are offered from Pre Primary to Year Six students. We have a strong emphasis on the use of Information Technology in all classes, with all classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six having access to either an Interactive Whiteboard or an Apple TV. From 2015 our Year Four to Six classes have a 1:1 iPad and the other classes have access to banks of laptops and iPads. Our innovative and dedicated staff strive to provide the best possible spiritual, academic, social and physical opportunities for our students.

The School Board, and Parents and Friends Association work closely with the school to build and strengthen a vibrant community spirit. We are also fortunate to be situated next to St Augustine’s Parish, where together, we are one community in faith.

Our Motto of Faith and Trust represents that together, we are developing our faith and trust in God and through this relationship, we can help our school community develop into an environment of harmony that fosters God’s love.

Many blessings to you all.
