Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the Staff and students of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pinjarra the principal and staff would like to welcome you and your family to our school community. We welcome your interest, support and encouragement in all aspects of school life.

St Joseph’s CPS was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph’s and the work of these Sisters and St Mary MacKillop of the Cross is still the foundation of our school. As our Vision statement states…we seek to create a God centred educational environment where each school community member is nurtured spiritually, academically, socially and physically.

Children from Pre- Kindergarten to Year Six are offered a curriculum which focusses on the whole child. The comprehensive curriculum is stimulating and challenging as we encourage our students to become confident, independent and collaborative learners who have, at their core, the Gospel values that Jesus taught us. We also offer a weekly playgroup which allows parents and their children to meet in an informal setting with a variety of activities for the children to experience.

Specialist Areas include: Physical Education, Science and Digital Citizenship. We also offer opportunities for students to participate in instrumental music classes and swimming lessons are offered from Pre-Primary to Year 6. We have a strong emphasis on 21st Century learning with all classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six having access to an Interactive Whiteboard or LED TV with Apple TV. Students from Year Three participate in a 1:1 iPad program and the junior classes have access to iPads.

Our innovative and dedicated staff strive to provide the best possible spiritual, academic, social and physical opportunities for our students.

The School Board, and Parents and Friends Association work closely with the school to build and strengthen a vibrant community spirit. We are also fortunate to be situated next to St Augustine’s Parish, where together, we are one community in faith.

Our Motto of Faith and Trust represents that together, we are developing our faith and trust in God and through this relationship we can help our school community develop into an environment of harmony that fosters God’s love.

Many blessings to you all.
